The ROOM

What happens when something that does not belong to a world suddenly becomes part of it?

ROOM is an ongoing exploration of synthetic environments where elements of the natural world coexist with forms that could never have emerged from it. A landscape, a piece of rock, a tree, a body of water—familiar fragments of a world we recognize—are placed alongside geometric objects that feel foreign to their surroundings.

The artificial object does not arrive to replace the natural world, nor does it necessarily disrupt it. It simply exists within it. Its presence changes the space, creating a new relationship between things that were never meant to belong together.

Perhaps this is how we experience the world ourselves: as artificial structures continuously inserted into systems that existed long before us.

ROOM is not a reconstruction of nature, but an attempt to imagine a place somewhere between the natural and the constructed; a world in which the unfamiliar can become part of the familiar.
