Morteza Ghahremanian aka Tormoz (b.1989)
is an Iranian visual artist, new media artist, and creative technologist working across generative media, immersive experiences, audiovisual environments, and interactive systems.
He began his professional journey in 2008 through graphic design and art direction. Although his work gradually expanded toward new media and emerging technologies, his approach remains rooted in visual thinking with a strong focus on image, atmosphere, composition, and the relationship between elements in space.
His practice explores the space between reality and imagination through the creation of visual experiences and environments. Drawing from natural phenomena, contemporary technologies, and visual perception, he develops works that move between the familiar and the unexpected.
Rather than treating technology as the subject itself, Morteza approaches it as a medium, using it to shape experiences, build atmospheres, and create new ways of engaging with images and space.
Alongside his artistic practice, he develops visual works for performances, installations, and digital environments. He is also the founder of Details Studio and co-founder of Otaaared, an educational group focused on Computer arts.
His works and performances have been presented internationally at MUTEK AE (UAE), Creative Code Festival (USA), SEEM Festival (DE), Timcheh Festival (DE), InFESTante (IT), Helsinki Experiment (FI), Neo Shibuya Museum (JP),Medium Fest(IR) and TADAEX(IR).
